Just purchased a 25 cx90 with the 3.3 inline. Any update on a tuner besides jb4 and have you run into any issues with your jb4? Thanks in advance

i love my gb4, so far no issues with 10K+ miles on it. i’ve not heard about other brands but would highly recommend it. the gain is very noticeable and it makes pulling a 4,000lbs boat less taxing, as the car seems to accelerate just fine even with that load. 0-60 is 0.4-0.5sec faster and also noticeable. i have the unit with bluetooth and it doesn’t get any easier to run it

So, I contacted Burgertuning who has had decent experience with the mazda platform and several other brands. What I like about their system, is it is not "Re-flashing" the ECU, it works more like a piggy pack, by intercepting input, then affecting output to the ECU and other systems.

Another words, you can "Un-plug" it, in order to bring it in for service.

I had great experience with Burgurtuning on my 2012 BMW 335i, netted about 50hp & 75lbs of torque, without changing anything else.

They need a CX-90 Turbo S, and/or Turbo S Premium Plus.

If you live not to far away from Simi Valley, CA, and are looking for a little more power, they need the car for a couple of hours to look at electronics, connections, take pics etc.
Please reach out to them @ sales@burgertuning.com

I made a post on reddit about my 2024 TSP CX-90 and mentioned getting the JB4 for additional power. I got a reply from a Mazda Mastertech saying this. Thoughts anybody? Has anyone run into issues getting any work done at the dealership and them denying any repairs or warranty because of the JB4?

I call BS on the info from the “Mastertech”. There are already people running these for 1000’s of miles with absolutely no issues. I’ve had JB4’s on Audi’s, BMW‘s and my Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quad. Well, put one on my Mazda CX 70 as soon as I get it.

Im with you. I'm sure there's no issues with the JB4 itself or it's results. It's more of the detectability and apparent consequences to the modules locking themselves if they detect the JB4 that might be concerning if true.

This is complete bullsh!t. I've had my JB4 for 10K+ miles and have been to the dealer for recalls and reprogramming of the different components at least 4 times and never had a problem. All I do is to disconnect the JB4 from the OBD port. The length to which this guy went to scare people is revealing - he's lying.

All the JB4 does is basically alter a sensor reading. The JB4 alters the boost reading from the sensor making the ecu “think” the boost is slightly lower than it is causing the ecu to increase boost a bit. The ecu “thinks” it’s at the correct boost…there’s no error or “tune” to record.

I take mine out completely.....remove the sensor interrupts remove the jb4 and all wiring......never an issue....over 20,000 miles.....many many recalls and reflashes/updates have been applied. I CALL B.S. too. Even if other modules log an overboost scenario.....they'd have to prove some aftermarket device caused it. Since the JB4 doesn't actually "Flash" or re-program the ECU like many other options out there for different platforms....I think your good, but, be smart about it. Some dealers might jump on the chance to get full payment for work needed if they can flag your car! That's why I schedule my appointment a week or two in advance and the day before, it all comes out.....

That person has no idea how the JB4 works, and the others here can attest to actual experience - what the “master tech” is describing is not possible. It’s always possible that manufacturers flag modified cars but unless there’s a rash of engine failures that they can trace to mods, they don’t even look on a car like this.
