My Preferred Plus was updated prior to delivery on 9/25/23 to version 10008, and, all recent recalls were taken care of per the technicians pre-delivery report given to me with my paperwork. Per reading the fix in version 10010 it only addresses an Active Driving Display "bug" that does not apply to the my trim since the PP Trim does not have the Active Driving Display. I see no reason to update to Version 10010. It is my understanding that when there is a new Mazda firmware update it is a complete total firmware update and not just a "patch" for a problem in the previous version.

Am I correct in my above assumptions????

That is your prerogative.

And I gave any CX-90 owner the option to do it manually yourself or get it done at your Mazda Dealer.

Any Mazda Dealer in this case will do Exactly as instructed by the exact same methods and files I supply.

I am all for owners seeking out what is best for them, as many have said it saved them the time of booking car in and taking car to a Dealer, again your option.

If you wish and are new to Mazda then you can Search my User ASH8 on Google or in the Mazda Forums this company provides.

As stated Many times I will never knowingly issue wrong advice, decades of my job at Mazda retail, wholesale and owner suggest I don't. Forums ARE a fantastic source of information and unfortunately misinformation, just like Car Dealers get wrong so many times as they do not care, I am the opposite.

I have not seen any complaints from the 35 plus CX-90 owners who I have issued the update to privately..

Worth noting,
Thankfully with this GEN 7 Mazda Connect (from 2019 all new Gen Models) you can not install the wrong Firmware or mess with it by hacking (something I have no clue or ambition to do) the CMU will just not permit anyone from either changing code from OEM or installing different system or wrong files, it just will not let you.
Unlike the Gen 6 used from 2014 to run out current models, these .up firmware files were hacked and tweaked, however Mazda patched this out with later updates.

I have followed the thread however you’ve never mentioned how you were able to get this file to do the upgrade, yet no one else can get it. Unless through you. How did you get it?
He got it at the "gettin' place!" (Remember that one?!)

Read his posts, notice the terminology, consider who would have access to such things...If you can't figure it out then you need to stick to the tedium and cost of visiting your Mazda dealer with your needs and inquiries.

GENUINE Mazda CONNECT Firmware for CX-90 is now available to Manually perform this Update in your CX-90.

What I supply is ONLY Genuine Mazda Firmware from my US Mazda Dealer Contact.
Legally links to Download Mazda Connect Firmware can not be posted publicly.
As I have said in the past I am a long term and recent Mazda employee/worker and I will never damage your Mazda or knowingly give out wrong advice.
You may see my User name in other Mazda Forums owned by this company, try the Mazda3 Revolution Forum, CX-3, CX-50, CX-30, Mazda6, etc.

THE Only Way you will get the link to Download the .kwi File and very easy Instructions from me is to be a Member of this great and growing CX-90 Forum and to then direct 'message' me. Repeat, Links cannot be posted live here or on any other car forum.

I only do this to help other Mazda owners (like me) all over the world, there is no cost to you.

To identify what Firmware Version Number is installed in your CX-90 now do the following on Infotainment screen.

1. Turn the ignition to ACC or to ON.
2. Select ”Settings” on the Home-screen.
3. Select “System Setting”.
4. Select “System Information”.
5. Select “Version Information”.
6. See 'System Software' your cars Version Number like 10004 is revealed.

It is easy on how it works the 'higher the number' the Later the Version Number.
The Current for Manual Updating of the 1.15Gb file is Version Number 10010.
If you check your cars Version and it shows 10002 or 10004 or 10008 then it is old and outdated, see the Changelog list below of the Version Numbers and what has been fixed,
many of the bug fixes are Navigation or Communication related ones.

So, if you Manually Update to latest NA11_10010 these issues below in your CX-90 will be fixed.

IF your CX-90 is sold off the latest Ship from Mazda Japan then you could possibly have this Version or even a newer one, if the number is Higher than 10010 (like example 10014) then there are currently no further updates as it is newer than what is currently available as a Manual Update file from Mazda (Dealers).

IF your CX-90 is correctly Registered for OTA (Over The Air) Software Updates then you should see Updates available or ready to install, your touch-screen will ask you to accept and install update if there is one.

OTA Updates via 'Connected Services' and MyMazdaApp is still having issues and frankly IMO it’s a bit too complicated for many users, plus after a certain period in time this Service is no longer complimentary or free, you must pay a subscription for regular OTA access and many of the MyMazdaAPP Features.

Frankly it is easier to manually update your Mazda Infotainment with this current .kwi file, Mazda issues them to Dealers approximately every 6 to 12 months.

DESCRIPTION of Known Bugs and the CHANGELOG.
Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update to
NEW (Version 7000C0A-NA11_10010).

(Ver. 7000C0A-NA11_10010) fixes these software errors (bugs):
The active driving display may not show the navigation information when a navigation route has been set.
The center display may not show the distance to the next crossing or direction etc., when a navigation route has been set. They are to be shown in the upper left or right-side area of the center display.

(Ver. 7000C0A-NA11_10008) fixes these software errors (bugs):
An incorrect screen may be displayed when communication restriction mode is set while the Driver Personalization System is displaying the authentication result.
An incorrect screen may be displayed when connecting to Android Auto.

To Update MAZDA CONNECT with software version 7000C0A-NA11_10010 or later using MAZDA CONNECT OTA Update Instructions or with a USB memory stick using the 7TH GEN MAZDA CONNECT Update Instructions.

NOTE: In updating MAZDA CONNECT
(if the vehicle is enrolled in Connected Services via MyMazdaApp and the CMU log is small) try using OTA update at first.

If an Owner is having difficulty completing an OTA update or if the OTA update cannot be completed after multiple attempts, update the software MANUALLY for the CMU (Connectivity Master Unit) with a suitable USB Flash Drive memory stick.

NOTES: Mazda recommends placing only the latest Firmware Version on your USB Flash Drive memory stick to avoid updating the system with the wrong version which in most cases will not be accepted by cars CMU as Updates ONLY goes one way and cannot normally go in reverse with installing old and outdated Firmware.

Use a USB Flash Drive up to 32GB, it must be cleanly re-Formatted to FAT32 and No other Files or Pictures can be on this USB Flash Drive, ONLY the correct Mazda .kwi File.

NOTE: You can Not also update your CX-90's CMU with another Countries Firmware, like an example of using RU11 Firmware meant for the Russian CX-90.

Again, the CMU will not accept any Connect Files meant for another Country, also with this Gen 7 Mazda Connect you really cannot damage CMU as included instructions are much easier than the old Gen 6 Mazda Connect updates.

Just Follow the Enclosed Install Instructions in the Download Link supplied Privately by sending me a Message, Please Click on my Avatar to Message me.

To manually perform this manual Update is really very easy, plus one can ONLY Install Genuine Mazda Software your car will accept nothing else but Genuine, this is NOT any Hack or something which will damage your CX-90.

Sorry about all the info but I try to cover most of your questions, please comment if you need assistance.
:)

What Hardware is Needed...
Obviously the .kwi Software File which is now updated and
then you must have a Suitable USB Flash Drive Unit, like...

TYPE A (Square-Male) to....will also need a USB C Adapter...
TYPE C (Oval Shape-Male)....
YES You can use an ADAPTER Type A to Type C....

DO NOT USE any Multi Port Point Adapter types or style.
DO NOT USE ANY ‘’MICRO USB CARDS’’ MOUNTED INTO ANY USB DRIVE.

Yes for all those who live in North America called NA11.
Plus those in Russia a similar update from Mazda is available called RU11.

CX-90 Owners must 'Message' me by clicking on my Avatar, and then Message with your request. 😀

Or you complain to your Mazda Dealer by instructing them that the Navigation HUD is not working as it should and you have heard that an update to cars Mazda Connect is required.
Edit:
Obviously if your CX-90 model version does not come standard with a HUD, then you can't complain to your Mazda Dealer that it does not work (as car never had it).
Also keep in mind that there is only one Firmware for all North America NA11 models with or without HUD, I can assure you that this will not be the last update when "bug" issues pop up.
So far from production it started with 10006, then 10008 and now current 10010.
What I have also found over the 10 years of doing Mazda MZD Connect there are more fixes done than listed in Changelogs.

All software makers' updates often address things that users ar not aware of...they don't see any benefit to pointing out faulty design/coding when they can simply and quietly rectify it.

If you look at any application on your phone/tablet, the most common statement is "Security & Bug Fixes/Enhancements" as they release weekly updates. They won't list every single item and you have basically come to accept that there are changes that are not listed in the log. So them fixing additional issues besides what is listed in the release notes wouldn't be a shocker.

Flawless update 10006 to 10010. Thanks ASH8! To those considering updating, if you have flashed firmware on other devices, such as a computer BIOS, you probably will have no problems. If any doubts, don't do it.

Yes, this update with Mazda .pdf Instructions included in the download package is very easy to do.

Even if your model does not come from factory with a Head Up Display (HUD) the update is definitely for your CX-90 in North America.
The user / installer really cannot mess it up.

Ver 10010 fixed this very annoying bug for me.

An incorrect screen may be displayed when communication restriction mode is set while the Driver Personalization System is displaying the authentication result.

You don’t know what you are talking about… you are better off not responding rather than providing MIS information. Why don’t you “troll” somewhere else….
troll? WTF how am i trolling? Apple is a closed eco system, through carplay apple only allows apple maps pass through to be on hud, this is not a mazda choice.

waze and Google maps do not work on hud if you are using carplay, thats a fact.

and if you think i am trolling apple I have had every iphone since the original.

Ok, perhaps you should educate yourself a little first.
What "results" are they buying? as it is free.
Just ask the now over 9,000 people I have assisted worldwide over the Mazda range since 2014 because Mazda Dealers don't actually do what you think they should actually do.
Now over 40 CX-90 Owners here have updated their Firmware themselves Without having to go to their Dealer? I see zero complaints?
I also say for people to go to their Dealer and ask for this Mazda Connect update if they dont want to do it themselves, it is very easy for most with a very basic PC knowledge.
Did you even bother to look at what I post in this Forum, do you think I make it up?
You do know these car Forums are here to Help Specific Car Owners, that is their point of existence or remain ignorant of facts.
What do you actually bring to the table here?
:)

I have the 4A11 10002 version.
Hello, I think we discussed in a message, unfortunately my middle east Mazda Dealer I have used for years as a contact and supply of 4A Region Firmware is no longer working at this Dealership so I have lost a supplier for any 4A Firmware which also does some Central and South American and Asian countries.
Your CX-90 obviously has original version Firmware, your 90 should still be under new car warranty?, I suggest you take it back to dealer and complain of a Mazda Connect issue.
By now they should have an updated Firmware file for 4A11 that they can now flash for you?.

Discussion starter · #78 · (Edited)
Just to reiterate I have always said if you are unsure to go to your Mazda Dealer for updates (see the TSBs I also post here).
But YOU MUST Complain of an actual issue so the Dealer will update Mazda Connect and Dealer can claim back their Warranty time from Mazda NAO > MMC Japan. Mazda does not pay for any claim that has no causual part to it.

On OTA or Over The Air updates, frankly at the moment these are a pain. In US you must be VIN Registered and then Via MyMazdaApp and then have correct boxes checked in screen setting for it to work. Then later OTA becomes a subscription service. Not all areas of USA are working.
In Europe Mazda has removed the service temporarily and will not work.

As for so called worms or bugs in the Firmware I supply, well the MAZDA Digital Fingerprint (MDF) I also supply in a .txt file and a Checksum .exe program with every file download has to be 100% correct or MDF will not match and the actual Firmware File will NOT Load or Install in your cars CMU.
If MDF is not exact cars CMU will say "file not found" and it will never ever install.

IF there were trojans, worms or other nefarious code added to the genuine Mazda Firmware I supply then the MDF would never match the encrypted original key.

Sorry again for late response.
Basically yes you are correct, if your CX-90 does not come with HUD package then this Mazda Connect update really is of little benefit, however its been my experience that Mazda never lists ALL the Changelog for commercial reasons, plus again there is always other minor bugs which are rectified and not listed.
Yes the Firmware updates I supply and same as Dealer are a complete file version reinstallation (over 1 GB in size) and not a small patch. The OTA firmware patches are usually around 230MB in size.
Mazda Dealers don't supply or do the smaller patches for Mazda Connect updates as these are only OTA (when working), they are usually released every 6 months and your car checks for these about every 7 days from memory, but again all the correct boxes must be ticked and registered for OTA services to function.
