I have done a couple of custom front license plate curtain mounts myself so I know the struggle From experience if you want to avoid messing up the paint a tow hook mount is a great option as long as you make sure it would not interfere with your parking sensors or other front sensors. If you do go with a bracket that screws into the bumper I would say using rubber washers or spacers behind it to minimize damage to the paint and chrome trim. Finally, if you are going with a tow hook plate, remember that it may need adjusting every so often to prevent it from loosening over time, especially after hitting bumps.
