Sam review, SMH
He made 3rd row access/exit overly dramatic (5x). But looks to be about 6'2".
2nd row does have more hvac vents. There are also 2 more on the floor under the 2nd row seats, forward firing, either side of the hump, controlled by the airflow selector. Engine sounds are actual, not fake.

Main new thing to watch is the 3 wheel "Slip Test".

I just watched a video on the Mazda CX-50 Meridian edition and my thoughts on T/C were accurate. In off road mode with T/C still on it pulls too much torque from the drivetrain due to sensing slippage. As soon as it was turned off it distributed the torque and pulled itself out. Nothing wrong with the Mazda AWD system at all.

Driving Sports TV video here:

This is exactly what I ran into with our Dodge as well. Too much power loss with T/C on while stuck in the mud off road.

Sam CarLegion - two videos - He's not fan, just a new CX-9 in his opinion.

Review
He doesn’t seem to understand that the reason there is not a lot of storage space in the center console is because the transmission is under there. He complained about the icon graphics in the infotainment, but only ever drove the car in a straight line. Can’t respect a reviewer who as no appreciation or understanding of the mechanical aspects of the car

I think based on his reasoning that it's a "family car" which means the front center console needs to be bigger (no comment on the rear one with the hidden additional storage at the front) and it needs to accommodate 6'2" 200lbs men in every seating position, says it all. I'd like to see three of him fit in the 2/3/3 model 2nd or third row. The FR drivetrain layout, handling, power with excellent fuel economy were all not discussed well in his review.

I do sometimes wonder if these YouTube personalities realize how they sabotage themselves with some of these stupid reviews and comments.
I disagree with his poorly thought-out review. Felt all over the place. I do empathize with the transmission jerkiness. However, the rest of the review falls apart.
The drag race was interesting to watch. I was hoping the CX-90 would be in the mid-5 seconds, but that is not the primary reason and what matters the most is how the car rides and handles in twists and turns and feels balanced. None of which he mentioned.
Oh, plus the CX-90 is a lot cheaper and more fuel efficient. I rest my case. All are great cars and no car is a bad option.

As far as drag race wouldn't it be more representative to run 3 heats & switch drivers in each heat to normalize any possible driver differences (then average results)? May not have changed results but would eliminate that factor.

I personally don't see much value in these drag races. These vehicles were never designed to hit a specific trap speed or break any 0-60 records. After my test drive last weekend in the Turbo S (Signature in Canada), it will have zero issues moving myself and my family from point A to B.

If speed is the quantifiable quality you're looking for in a SUV and clearly price doesn't need to match the Mazda, there are many other options out there that go much quicker.

The test variables were not at all scientific and purely based on Sam's loosely organized, on the fly, defined parameters.

Boy, this guy complains about everything! You aren’t supposed to operate the infotainment when you are driving, you dolt! He never really pushes the car in corners, but he complains about the handling. He recommends to get a Lexus GX over the CX-90?! This is a totally different kind of vehicle, a body on frame truck really, which is an ancient behemoth that is really good for towing but handles like crap. Yes, the BMW X5 is more refined, probably because it has been around for 20 years! But the CX-90 has more room inside, and probably meets or beats the X5 in driving dynamics. And the CX-90 costs 20 to 30k less.

Mazda. Brake Override System
Functions to disallow acceleration when both brake & accelerator are pressed at the same time. For reviewers that tried to brake boost (launch control) for a 0-60 run, rpms were unable to achieve typical 2,000+ before releasing brake. Accelerator (thottle position sensor) is remapped to approx 1,100 rpms. I suspect some of this system behavior may have been exhibited during this hill climb, but not sure how it operates in Off-Road mode. BOS can be (supposedly) deactivated with a procedure before engine startup, but once engine is turned off, system will be activated upon next startup.
