We have an order in for the CX90 PHEV GT up in Canada. However looks like it only comes with the 10.25” infotainment display.

I’ve seen conflicting answers on whether that is a touchscreen with carplay or android auto. I’m worried that it will be a full dial control, which I’m not sure I can get used to. Does anyone know whether it will also be a touchscreen?

I’m fine with the compromise that it can only work in park (but I’ve seen that there’s an option in the 12.3” version to enable it while driving as well).

I have taken delivery of a Canadian CX-90 MHEV GT-P with the 10.25" display and I can confirm that it is non-touch for Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. To my understanding, only vehicles with the 12.3” display are touch enabled (which in Canada would be the Signature trim only). I couldn't live with having just six seats in the Signature, so I had to opt for the seven seater GT-P. I would assume the PHEV with the 10.25" would be in the same situation. A shame for Canada, but it is what it is...

Interestingly, the CX-50 with a similar 10.25" screen DOES have touch capability.

I gave the sales rep a call and he confirmed there is no touchscreen on the 10.25" version (any trim) -- the only version with the 12.3" screen available in Canada is the MHEV Signature edition. I'm sure I can get used to it over time, but I do worry about resale value as pretty much every competitor now has a pretty good touch screen system. Seems like a big miss.

I don’t know on the touch interface…I think the display and the dashboard placement of it is a leftover from the CX-9 or previous gen Mazdas that didn’t have the touchscreen capability. Plus “enabling” stuff in the software probably costs more money then just paying a programmer to flip a switch. There could be licensing fees that need to be paid for each car a feature is enabled on.

I have a US CX-90 PHEV Preferred with the 10.25" screen, has it been confirmed for sure that it's not a touchscreen and it cannot be activated/enabled?
I have been using the knob just fine, but sometimes I like to pinch and zoom to play with the map to explore routes while driving, the knob wheel cannot do that....
I saw on some videos about other models that it can be enabled, but their instructions don't work for my model.

It’s confirmed by Mazda to not be a touchscreen.

There's a LOT of confusion about the CX-90 infotainment screen. We're in Calgary, and just took delivery of our GT trim this week. It has the larger 12.3" screen, BUT it has no touch-screen capability at all. In Canada, the Apple Play touch screen is only available in the In-Line 6 Signature version. Same with ventilated second row seats. I don't know why they gave the In-Line 6 more features than the PHEV.

In my CX-90, the 10.25" screen is NON-Touch. As I understand it, the 12.3" is Only Enabled When Parked and Not while Underway. It didn't take me long to get familiar with the knob and here's the kicker ... I really like using Voice Commands: (push the button), "Take me to the closest Costco gas station." ... (reply), "Alright. Let's go!" Easy-peasy.

I can tell you that my dealer salesman was able to pair his iPhone to My car when I was having trouble with my Pixel7, so I believe so. And now my Android is working fine. In both cases, we were using bluetooth. I have not tried using a "wired" connection. And my phone charges wirelessly in the "cubby" too. THAT is so Cool!
