What did you add to or modify on your CX-90?

I got my trailer hitch yesterday, the first day they were available. The dealer had received one for inventory so I didn't have to order. They were nice enough to get it installed the same day. The tech that installed it said it was simple, so if you're contemplating doing it yourself I'd say give it a try!

35% tint on the front windows to cure the huge difference between the front and rear windows, which bothers me.

Looks much better. I may go 20 percent to have it more closely match the rear windows.
Thanks for posting. I tried to order the hitch package on mine but it wasn't available yet. Did you get the wiring harness too or just the hitch?

I worry about going too dark and drawing the wrong kind of attention. Because the windows differ, most people don’t have any idea that they’re tinted.
I got just the hitch, but I believe all the hitch packages became available yesterday.

We went with the Texas limit of 25% on front side windows (ceramic film). Also got Llumar Air 80 clear ceramic on inside full front windshield & inside of sunroof panels. Did paint correction & Ceramic coating (resisted the urge to chase down orange peel). Also interior protection (but avoided putting anything on the door & dash suede for now (tan)).

Do you have the Mazda part number for the hitch?
It’s KMV6V3920 and retails for $499, I think.

Is that the "Premier Tow", "Essential Tow" or just the Hitch?
I had my dealer include the "Premier Tow" when we bought ours, but had to wait for it to become available.
I'll have to call the service department to see if mine is already on order.

It's just the hitch. I want it for a bike rack and don't need the wire harness or brake controller.

You are probably the first owner in the US with an OEM trailer hitch. Haven’t seen any installed on any models at the factory yet

Only thing I have done thus far is de-badge the rear.

!! Warning to those who like to do the same!!

Each side has two alignment holes/studs for the badges. The part the badges are on is actually a painted trim (plastic) cover, not the liftgate itself. I have a Jet Black Mica TS so unless you are within a few feet, you cant tell they are there, but it will be more noticeable on other colors. I am debating on painting the badges and re-installing them though long term. Other option would be to have a friend of mine who does composite / carbon fiber work to replicate the trim piece, the would open up the opportunity to swap the rear mazda emblem badge as well, for those who like the modded evil 'M' badge look.

Also I have been prepping to pull the chrome trim in the front and rear bumpers to get paint matched. The lower pieces in the front / rear bumpers are pretty straight forward to remove, the parts in the front grille are less so. One may be able to get them off without removing the entire grille, but I wont know till I take off some of the covers on top to expose the backside of the grille.

I cant tell from diagrams available online if the side skirt chrome accent strips are removable, but I am hoping at the very least to be able to vinyl wrap them along with the chrome door jam accents. Roof rails appears to be secured with studs / nuts, and I am not tearing into the headliner for that, but would like to get the rails painted as well potentially. I have never been one that enjoyed the murdered out look, but I think the CX-90 would be much better looking if it was more paint matched / solid black trim.

I saw a black CX-90 today, the trim that doesn’t have the chrome trim, and one thing I noticed is the skirt didn’t look so bad because it was almost the same color as the car

Agreed. I saw a grey one at the dealership and remarked to the salesman that the matte black trim almost disappeared into the color.

I tinted the windows 5% all around. Ceramic tint and installed a dope set of 24s to give it some life. In love so far. ❤❤😎😎

I totally agree. I went and looked at the Artisan Red and Machine Gray and went with the Machine Gray because you can't get colored matched fenders on a PHEV. I didn't mind the black plastic nearly as much on the Gray. I do think I would prefer all black trim vs the chrome though. I'm nearly positive it will be an option in the next few years. It's an option now on the CX-60. I think I prefer the all black wheels on certain colors to (I know not everyone does). WAY easier on brake dust.

The shark fin made me laugh a little. The gun metal grey looks very nice as well. Congratulations!
