wait time for PHEV in Transit

With all the parts shortages my personal feeling is until a car is at the dealership it doesn’t exist. Are you sure you have an actual order, or is the dealer just reserving an “in transit” PHEV for you? It seems like they could give more details.

I signed a purchase order and salesman said it was on the ship from Japan. It does show in transit still on the dealer site and it has specific vin

This was our experience with Turbo S.
Your order may vary .. (our dealer has 2 Phevs listed and no eta on tracking link, yet.

March 7 - Found dealer with in bound what we wanted, dealer stated ship was scheduled to arrive at West coast port March 11, but no other specific ETA was available. (No units were even listed on dealer website at this point)
March 8-9 - Requested OTD quote and Vin, put up deposit. Found tracking link, see below.
March 27 - Tracking link changed from blank ETA to 2 to 3 weeks. Dealer confirmed an Apr 21 eta & stated that typically meant car was released from the port awaiting rail or truck transport scheduling to final destination. (to North Texas), once a week updates on tracking (2-3, 1-2, 1).
April 20 - (evening) Car arrived at dealership, picked it up the next day.

Delete blank space after "https" and insert Vin after "vin=" (no blank spaces). Scroll to "in transit" box. If it has an eta (weeks) it will be listed underneath.
