Tips and tricks for CX-90 owners

I thought I'd start a thread where owners can ask and answer questions on how features of the car work.

My first discovery was that the gas cap won't open unless car doors and windows are closed. I imagine this is to keep fumes from the interior.

And now a question: Has anybody figured out how to tune HD radio? I tuned to a local station that I'm certain has several HD channels but it didn't display the HD logo.

So if the windows are open the gas door won't open? That seems pretty inconvenient and likely to irritate anyone in the car on a hot day.

So is it saying to do that because it's safer or is it saying a person must so that in order to open the gas door. Can an owner confirm?
Tried it. It opened under all conditions this time: door open, window down, even with car locked. I have no idea why it didn't open the first time I tried it. The manual text appears to be a safety suggestion rather than a required procedure.

Thanks for checking. I appreciate the effort!
Same here, as far as door open 2nd row window down. I have settings to Lock at speed, unlock at ignition off.

Car off, exit car, lock doors with handle, fuel lid remains unlocked. Walk away with key fob on me leaving car locked, fuel lid eventually locks (about 5 min or so).

Looks like the driver’s door needs to be unlocked for the fuel door to open

Weird
Ill go ahead and post my tip that so far seems to work really well. Those of us with the driver detection/personalization system. If you have issues with it dumping you into guest, try this!

When you get into the car and close the door. Do not turn the car on immediately, instead, look at the infotainment screen and wait for the splash screen (the splash screen will come up and say Welcome, "name", the seat will start moving before the screen even comes up if you have the exit/entry setting on). When I do this I have yet to have it mis-detect me in the week and a half I have been doing this. If I go to start it as soon as I jump in, then its a coin flip it seems on whether the process will properly detect me. I have even tested this leaving my garage dark and the light in the cabin seems to be enough still. This adds maybe 10-15 seconds to my starting routine, but I am usually getting situated with work bag/ lunch / phone anyways.

Mazda engineer explains all other settings that get stored/updated into your personalization profile without you having to save it again.
