I'm trying to find out if the new CX-90 PHEV will be eligible for the US federal tax credit. I believe the final assembly for the vehicle must be in North America to be eligible under the latest tax incentive legislation. Does anyone know if the CX-90s final assembly is in the new Toyota/Mazda plan in Alabama, or is it being built in Japan? Will it be eligible for the $7,500 tax incentive?

no it won't be eligible for 7,500 tax incentive. all rumors point to cx90 being assembled in japan. the mazda/toyota alabama plant builds cx50 and corolla cross. don't think mazda is going to invest the money to re-tool the plant for cx90 assembly.

since cx90 won't be eligible for EV credit, mazda probably won't be sending many PHEV models to the US. i believe australia will be getting most of the cx90 PHEV models.
