I've been able to get a verbal confirmation that I'm first on the dealer's list for the CX-90. They will take a deposit once they have a VIN and know that a unit is coming.

I'm being told that they won't be able to "order" my exact specification. I'm interested in a Turbo S Premium Plus in Artisan Red with just a few options. The salesman thinks there's a good chance that one of the first ones they get will be that since it's the color used in the ads and introduction.

Anybody else "on the list"?

My dealer contact was heading to a training event this week where they would get to drive the CX-90. He was expecting to have a procedure for waiting list or orders later this week.

I am hoping it is refundable deposits pending a test drive or being able to see/sit in one in person. Otherwise I will either wait until the dealers have one on the ground or go with Plan B. Not confident enough it will work for our family of 4 sight unseen.

Anyone found a dealer willing to sell at MSRP? In my area (SE Wisconsin) they are adding mandatory dealer installed packages I don't want. Just looking for MSRP with a refundable deposit if it shows up and for some reason doesn't work for the family. Been emailing all the dealers within a reasonable distance and so far no luck.

The order banks were opened yesterday for sold orders. Mazda is allowing customers to spec the CX-90 exactly as they'd like it.
I'm still working details of my trade-in but hope to have an ordered placed very soon. The dealer has indicated that the price will be MSRP.

I visited a dealership in Ontario, Canada over the weekend and I was told that while the vehicle to test drive will arrive in May, customers will not be able to get one until 2024. Is it a similar store in the US?

Not sure, but a few days ago, most dealers showed 1 car on order with a VIN listed, but since ordering opened, saw multiple cars in many US dealers now listed. None in stock yet - just in-transit listed. Looks like end of March or in April before they are in stock (if not sold out).

Welcome to the forum guys! @Zoom that seems like a pretty big gap between demo models and customer models arriving. Hopefully that's not the case for Canadian cars.

@rapatel.rocky That seems like a reasonable timeframe for models to start arriving.

What's your ideal CX-90 spec?

Ideal would have been PHEV Premiums Plus having all the same features as Turbo S Premium Plus, but if the lease offer on PHEV passes through US federal tax credit of $7500 (assuming rules are not changed), then it would be a great lease deal. If not passed through, I am beginning to more like the idea of leasing Turbo S Premium Plus since mileage is not bad (even if real world is less it is still going to be pretty good). I don't drive that much (have around 45k miles on our 2007 CX-9 GT), but mostly local miles that would work well with PHEV on EV power mostly locally while still allowing gas for the longer distance highway trips. But if no real incentive on PHEV, would feel great getting all the features on the Turbo S Premium Plus and in 3 years, re-evaluate the PHEV market then.

I ordered my CX-90 this morning. It's a Turbo S Premium Plus in Artisan Red with tan interior. I saw the sales manager enter the order and it was marked as submitted. They said it should show as accepted in a day or two. Mine was the dealer's first order.
It occurred to me that mine was probably the most expensive car the dealer has ever sold. They said it was.

@SkyActiv I am hoping that gap is not real. I will ask around other dealerships.

@GRB60 I take it you are comfortable buying it without taking it for a test drive - I am not sure I am there, yet

My deposit was refundable pending test drive and in person inspection...test fitting the family in it etc. I was told first shipments arriving in first week of April per Mazda but the dealer was thinking later April. Then customer orders could be as early as late April.

This is from the dealer so weigh that when deciding how accurate it is. Mazda started building CX-90 the second week of February so if an order matched one that had already been built or was scheduled to built it would be an early arrival. If the order needed to be put in line and accepted by Mazda then it could be May or June.

Best guess is the higher profit trims and colors would be built first...premium plus in artisan red and rhodium white.

I am hearing from my dealership that the PHEVs are going to start landing at dealerships in May in the US. Is anyone else hearing that or something different?
I heard PHEV availability was later in the year (after June) and that they could not order PHEV when the system opened on the 24th. Again, all from a dealer so up to you if you trust it.
