Hello,

New member from the Ottawa, Ontario area. Currently own a CX-9 w. a CX-90 on order. Looks to be another great new vehicle.

I've owned a few Mazda's in the past and love the driving dynamics.

I've previously owned:

2016 Mazda CX-9 Signature
2012 Mazda 6 GS-L
2011 Mazda 3 GS
1995 Mazda RX-8 GT w. Mazdaspeed aero

The CX-9 will be staying in the family and driveway, we're just adding in a CX-90 Signature in Artisan Red Metallic with the Windsor Tan Nappa leather.

Cheers.

Welcome @corentco.

Great to see you owned some Mazdas before. Did you consider a vehicle from a different automaker before going with the CX-90? When are you expecting to take delivery?

Thank you @zoomzoom for the warm welcome. Yes, I actually cancelled my order from last July for a Hyundai Palisade Ultimate Calligraphy a day prior to ordering my CX-90.

Last summer I had driven both of the Korean models, the Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot (prior to its refresh). I like them all to a degree, but the Honda transmission was lacking, Toyota had an extremely long delivery, Kia was not accepting orders and Hyundai was happy to order me a Palisade. I've not owned a Kia or Hyundai, but they both drove quite well and had tons of interior space. I was impressed, but the driving dynamics are not as sharp as my CX-9. Mazda has always provided excellent driving dynamics and I hope this new rear bias, inline-6 turbo with mild hybrid will continue that tradition. The CX-90 will be my daily driver, while my wife drives the CX-9, so it'll be interesting to compare the platforms.

Delivery is expected around the August time frame. I'm number 6 in queue for a CX-90 at my local dealer.

Congratulations on ordering your CX-90 @corentco and welcome to the forum! What has you the most excited about the CX-90? I look forward to hearing your thoughts on how it compares with your CX-9.

Hi @SkyActiv . I think what I'm looking forward to the most is the inline 6 w. the rear wheel bias configuration. The front engine layout with a rear wheel drive bias at this price point is what made me cancel my Hyundai order. I'm sure the build quality of the interior will be excellent, my 130,000 Km CX-9 still is, and although the interior is smaller than other competitors I know it'll work for my family. I'm not expecting it to drive like a sport car, but the layout should offer better driving dynamics than it's direct competitors. My wife lovingly pushed me to get something that would be more my "driving style". I'm lucky to have spent many years on a race track and still do, but not as often.

Found the picture from when I brought home the CX-9 in 2016. It still looks great today.

I found a picture as well of my other turbo car from last summer. It's purely for the track and some limited nice weekend drives out in the country. My wife will be taking over the CX-9 Signature and I'll be driving the CX-90 Signature as my daily, while keeping this one for fun.

That STI looks like a beast. What kind of work has been done to it?

Thank you. It was purchased in Feb 2011 after I finished racing touring cup cars and has been my fun track car for just over 12 years now.

I've torn it completely apart and modified almost everything. Built block and heads, tons of suspension/alignment changes and stiffening to the chassis, added water-methanol injection, brake upgrades and cooling, functional aero, larger turbo etc. Lots of changes over the first 7 years of ownership. Now it's just consumables. Brakes rotors/pads, oil, lots of fuel w. water/methanol and tires. It's very reliable and I run it pretty hard. ;)

Here's a picture from a few years back of the engine bay. I've cleaned it up a little since.
