Hello Community,
I've been lurking here since shortly before I took delivery of a Turbo Preferred Plus (mild hybrid) on Jan 13. From the day I took delivery, just a mile or two down the road, the front radar has been malfunctioning. It usually happens within a mile or two, and restarting offers a mile or two of function until it fails again. I've driven around 1700 miles already and have driven the car every day. Every day I deal with this malfunction. I can tell you with certainty that the sensor is not obscured. The front radar sensor seems to provide data for all the forward facing collision detection and the adaptive cruise control. On a handful of occasions, when driving in the city (nyc), the sensor has functioned for a sustained period. so maybe 200 miles out of 1700. It seems to need a lot of things to "sense". I won't go into a story about all my dealer interactions, let's just say I'm working with the them to validate this issue and report it to Mazda. I'm not ready to call them out, but it has required a few conversations to get them to take this seriously as the service counter man seems to want to tell me its "normal". As of this writing I'm enjoying the perfect function of a loaner CX-30, which seems to have the same tech. I'll update you all as I get info. I just wanted to start a thread with this specific error as I haven't seen this specific error reported on here.

Really hoping Mazda will pull their act together. I like the car, but it needs to work.

Same problem with me. Driving on a slushy highway got the alert so I stopped at a rest stop and looked at the sensors, sure enough they were caked with slush. I wiped them off and it worked for about 20 minutes and they stopped again. You would think they could have protected them better. Anyone know of a fix?

I have had this warning pop up but rarely. I may be wring but i believe the sensor or part of the system is the camera behind the rear view mirror. Whebever I jave gottwn this warning, I simply click up on windshield wipers and everything works fine. Most of the time its rain or a foggy peice of the windshield.

Great!!! I’m hopeful, I finally got a service advisor that immediately addressed my concerns and out Right stated that vehicle wasn’t designed to preform in this manner.

Sensor has been ordered and on tracked to be replaced. I also had non reported damage to bumper repaired prior to pick up which leads me to believe that during transport sensors may have been indirectly involved in a non visible damage that may have lead to defective readings.

IDK what they wiggled under the hood during diagnostic phase but it definitely decreased alerts. I intend on not report that until unit has been replaced.
