I got to drive a cx50 about 3 weeks ago and compared it to the ‘22 cx9. I’d never sat in a Mazda before and as much as I liked the cx9 I preferred everything about the 50 more. It’s a bit lighter than the 9 so it handles and accelerates a bit quicker. The seat was amazing and the seating position was very cockpit like. The iPad built in was one of the best I’ve seen and the material quality was superb. The downside was less headroom (I’m 6’3”) though still adequate and the sand color was not my styLe. If it were a different color I might have bought it. The reason I’m still looking at the 90 is I live high in the Rockies on a dirt road that is very dicey 25-40 days a year. I think the 90 will have a better drivetrain for my needs.
I wanted to mention that the 50 looks way better in person than in pics! The fender flairs and waist look gorgeous even in the sand color, so it’s going to rock in some of the new colors being projected. I may finally get a red vehicle lol. I’m hoping there is a trim that offered 18” wheels so I can use chains when needed. I’m really excited about the cx90.
